STRATFORD, CT — Stratford-based Two Roads Brewing Co. is launching a line of non-alcoholic beers, the company announced this week.
Two Roads, which is coming up on its 10th anniversary, plans to roll out a number of non-alcoholic beers over the coming months. The first offering will be a non-alcoholic version of Juicy IPA, according to a news release on the company’s website.
“An NA (non-alcoholic) Juicy makes perfect sense from a trend standpoint,” Director of Marketing Collin Kennedy said in the release.
Two Roads has “developed a 70-calorie, non-alcoholic liquid that lives up to its reputation for high quality, great tasting brews over the last decade,” according to the release.
CEO Brad Hittle credited master brewer Phil Markowski as being Two Roads’ “secret weapon.”
“Phil is one of the most creative and technically advanced brewers in the world,” Hittle said. “He has been professionally brewing since 1989 and has received countless accolades including numerous GABF medals and the renowned Russell Scherer Award for Innovation in Craft Brewing.
“Phil’s goal was to create an NA that would convince beer drinkers they are actually enjoying a full powered Juicy IPA and to no one’s surprise, he developed an NA that’s ‘two good to be true.'”
Markowski said that developing a non-alcoholic beer has been one of the more interesting challenges in his brewing career.
“After about 18 months of trial and error I love where we’ve arrived,” he said. “We have a flavorful, authentic tasting Juicy IPA that is non-alcoholic, but drinks like any of our other traditional Juicy IPA products.”
Two Roads Non-Alcoholic Juicy IPA will launch this week in 12oz/6-Packs in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, with plans to expand as “awareness and demand for the product increases,” according to the release.
Stratford is also home to the Athletic Brewing Company, a craft non-alcoholic brewery that was recently named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2022.
