LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Bluegrass Greensource gears up for it’s 20th anniversary in November. The celebrations started Saturday night at West Sixth Brewing with the unveiling of a new beer.
West Sixth Brewing released Bluegrassin’ in honor of Bluegrass Greensource’s milestone anniversary. On top of the debut of the new beer, 6% of all of Saturday’s sales were donated to Bluegrass Greensource.
The celebrations did not stop Saturday. For the rest of the month, Bluegrassin’ will be available at West Sixth Brewing and $1 of every flight purchased will be given to the organization.
“We’re here to celebrate and show people that you know recycling, reducing energy usage, doing things to help with water quality are very easy and doable and things that you can do without a lot of effort but really make a big impact right here in our region,” says Executive Director Amy Sohner.
While people enjoyed drinking beer Saturday, Sohner demonstrated how to make a rain barrel at home. She says her live tutorial was able to show people just how easy it is to do something good for the environment.
